huruma children's home

saving lives one child at a time

Mama Zipporah is known by all to heal with the healing light of the direct intervention of the pure love and light of Jesus Christ. all who know her see she burns like a million candles. Mama and her husband Issac are angels in this earthly realm

wow, wow, how could this be??

Facts about HIV/AIDS in Kenya:

HIV Infected: 1.2 million

AIDS Deaths: 150,000

AIDS Orphans: 650,000

80% of the World's orphans are African.

-- There are more than 377,000 Maasai in Kenya. There is an almost 100% female circumcision (or FGM) rate.

- Girls as young as 8 years of age are circumcised and forced into marriage in the Maasai tribe in Kenya.

Maasai girls are typically circumcised through mass coming-of-age ceremonies between the ages of 8-14. These ceremonies commonly involve one elder woman in the tribe using a single blunt instrument (sometimes a butter knife) to perform the procedure on all of the girls. They are then left in the sun for the blood to dry. Many of the girls develop infections and future complications, such as pain and bleeding during sexual intercourse, difficulties during pregnancy and difficulties during child-birth. Some of the girls die due to the infections, and some contract HIV/AIDS from the procedure.

this is a gift from thousands across the globe that mama has impacted. she has done much more than save the lives of so few in light of how many orphans live in Kenya alone. she has touched many lives with her simple love. she wants to save every little child she possibly can.

she does not seek personal recognition. she only wants to help all her babies and they are now

650,000 aids/hiv orphans.......................

just in kenya alone.
like many of us she hears the cries of every child in every corner of the globe.

she will never rest, she can never rest.

please understand there is no pity here, mama and isaac's babies whether 1 day old or now fully grown are some of the healthiest, happiest children in the world.

but too many children in kenya are hurting, struggling, starving, dying ... please take the time to learn her story..

just to know her love will carry them for the rest of their lives.

how much does a mother's love mean to us all?

mama's mission is huge, yet she only asks that you tell someone. not that you give her one penny. your love and prayers are all that she can ask of you. nothing more.
just tell one other person, that is it. very, very simple.

please go to her own website to learn more.

http://hchngong.org

is mama's official website.

if you feel you are called to do so, and wish to give.....

please only send donations to her directly. thank you. there are many good organizations supporting mama, but her site is her heart, and her donations to her site are controlled by
the government of Kenya to make sure that the money
is used properly for the care of the children.

thank you mama for your lessons in humility...........

quite simply this angel stays in prayer every second of every moment in her life. she lives for the pleasure of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. she touches everyone she meets as she is an angel of mercy. her work is hard and she is so tormented to be away from her babies, her children, that it is painful to see her away from her home. we all like to believe we understand the capacity to love. she has taught us more in simple moments in her presence than a lifetime of learning.

Wed 10th October, from Huruma Childrens Home......

The girls and I started preparation for the Aussie BBQ that we decided to put on for the Huruma children. We boiled 500 sausages, so they cooked quicker on the BBQ, onions and tomatoes were chopped and pineapples, apples watermelon and bananas were cut up for the fruit salad. As the guys heated the BBQ up, word spread around to all of 'the children like wild-fire that food was coming. These children eat the same thing every single day except Sunday, so the excitement that filled the air was almost visible, as they looked forward to the 'feast' we were preparing. Meat is rarely consumed because of the cost.
When I saw the children eating their sausage, onion and tomatoes in bread, it made the hours of chopping & preparation worthwhile. Handing out the fruit salad to the Huruma children was like giving chocolate bars out to our children. None of us had ever seen children get so excited about getting fruit.
The afternoon was spent sweeping the dirt and stones off the basketball court, which is really starting to take shape. The guys are doing an awesome job. I asked Shadrak, who works with the farm animals, if I could help him milk the cows. I had to meet him at the barn gate at four o'clock and I don’t know who was more excited me or Shadrak (who was actually getting some help!) I wasn’t very good at it but it was so much fun, I kept missing the bucket and Shadrak thought is was hilarious. He wants me to go back tomorrow morning to help him. The boys killed a snake in the room where we hold devotions. One of the children saw it only 10 minutes after we left the room. It got beaten then thrown onto the fire.
Later in the day, Mama Zipporah came up to the guest house and sat talking with us for ages. She told us the stories of some of the children at Huruma. She told us about a little girl whose father tried to marry her off to an abusive man when she was 11yrs old. She also told us of the many times she has just sat & cried & cried children when they have found out that they are HIV positive. Mama also told of a girl at Huruma whose father slashed her arms with a knife. We listened to story after story and all of them where devastating. To think humans could be so cruel to one another... But to treat a child this way just doesn’t make sense to me.
Please keep praying for us and the children of Huruma. Thank you for all of your support, we love and appreciate you all.
Please also pray for beyond all borders and support them any
way in which you may be able.....thank you from huruma....
thank you to anyone that has ever said a prayer for mama.
